Vibrational Sound Therapy
What is VST?
Quantum physics has proven that everything has vibration and wherever there is a sound, there is a vibration. VST combines powerful vibrations and tones to induce a relaxed state to the body and nervous system. The induction of sound waves directly onto the body along with soothing ambient tones can produce effects ranging from a meditative state to deep relaxation.
When there is deep relaxation through soothing, resonant sound, the body is impacted on a cellular level, opening up the flow of energy to move us back toward vibrational alignment and health. It’s through relaxation of the body that balance, health, and happiness can be restored.
A VST session
You can think of vibrational sound therapy like a massage with some difference. Instead of using our hands, we used therapeutic Himalayan Singing bowls as our instrument. The only other notable difference is clients remain fully clothed during a session. VST is above all a method of relaxation. During a session your muscles will lose tension, breathing and heart rate will start to slow down, and the body will begin to absorb the waves of vibration into its tissues. At this point you may move through various brain wave states including: beta (awake, alert), alpha (calm, relaxed), theta (deep meditation, and delta (dreamless sleep). Catharsis can occur and is highly encouraged.
Benefits of VST
Relaxation and meditative states of mind have been shown to increase the window of tolerance (the zone where intense emotional arousal can be processed in a healthy way) and greater regulation of our nervous system (your bodies’ command center). As a result VST may:
reduce stress and anxiety
increase your mood
clear energy blockages
lower blood pressure and cholesterol
improve sleep patterns
reduce pain and more
The sound bowl healing that I received at SunEarth was life changing. I suffer from terrible anxiety and tense muscles but when my session was through I was so relaxed, I could have melted. Initially I didn’t really know what to expect but Gabrielle made me very comfortable before I even laid down on the table. The energy and atmosphere played a big role and her questions helped her identify what areas needed care. The actual vibration of the bowls were intense at first but after a while my body started to loosen up and really feel the effects. I’ve had massages in the past and let me tell you, they could never compare to this. The experience was unforgettable and I can’t wait until my next session. If you are curious about sound healing, keep an open mind and do it with someone who really is a healer like Gabrielle. You will for sure come back for seconds!
