Trauma-informed Healing for Black Women and Femmes

A gentle body-led healing space for Black women and femmes who are ready to rest, remember, and reclaim their most authentic self.

Partnerships & Collaborations

If your story is anything like mine, then you’ve spent a lifetime being strong for others while quietly learning how to survive yourself. Then, somewhere along the way, your body got tired, your spirit fell weary, and your needs ignored.

You may have found this space while searching for nervous system healing near me, while longing to release trauma from the body, and hoping to find a somatic healer who understands your lived experience and honors the wisdom of your body.

This is a space for Black healing. Sun Earth Healing exists to reclaim and restore your dignity and Divinity through safety, slowness, and care that honors our highest selves. Here, we make room to unlearn survival as a default, reconnect with ancestral wisdom, and practice forms of rest, pleasure, and embodiment that are deeply liberatory.

Whether you’re curious about a Black women’s wellness retreat, drawn to Black wellness retreats, or beginning a personal healing journey, you belong here.

Meet Gabby Oglesby, MSW

Gabby Oglesby (they/she) is a Black, queer, disabled healing practitioner rooted in trauma-informed, body-led care. Their work is shaped by lived experience, community care, and a deep commitment to accessible holistic healing wellness.

As someone living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Complex PTSD (c-PTSD), Gabby understands what it means to move through the world with limited energy and to choose rest as an act of resistance.

With over a decade of experience in community-based work, Gabby blends trauma-informed yoga, somatic practices, sound healing, spirituality, and self-devcoaching to support people in reconnecting with their bodies and rebuilding safety from the inside out.

What unfolds here…

Learning to listen to your body

Through slow, gentle movement, breath practices, and space for reflection we begin to re-orient towards the body as a site of sensation, information, and liberation.

Learning to choose yourself

Through the practice of self-devotion or showing up for yourself over and over again, you learn to prioritize you without guilt or shame using healing journey journal and self-compassion prompts.

Learning to receive love and support

Through the practice of community, consent, and boundary setting, we experience the power of reciprocal love and safe support, deepening our relationship to self

Our impact has been cultivated through intentional, accessible practices rooted in trauma-informed healing for Black femmes and supported by Black owned wellness retreats and community-centered care.

I’m a body‑led healing practitioner and guide offering trauma‑informed healing for Black women and femmes who are tired of performing and surviving.

My work is shaped by my own lived experience as a Black, queer, disabled human. I know what it feels like to want healing that is culturally rooted, trauma-informed, and accessible.

For over 10 years, I worked in community spaces supporting people impacted by trauma, violence, incarceration, illness, and burnout. Over time, I saw the same pattern again and again, especially among Black femmes and Black women. We carry so much. And our bodies pay the price.

That’s why my work centers Black healing, rest, and safety. I blend trauma-informed yoga, somatic practices, sound healing, spiritual hygiene, and self-devotion coaching to support nervous system healing and help people gently release trauma from the body.

This is holistic wellness that meets you where you are…not where you think you “should” be.

Healing here is slow.
Healing here is sacred.
Healing here is yours.

I also create community spaces, circles, and retreats including Black women’s wellness retreats and Black owned wellness retreats so healing doesn’t have to happen alone.

Hi, I’m Gabby Oglesby

  • It (self-devotion coaching) was a very beautiful, collaborative process. She integrated meditation, yoga, stretching, anything mind-body related in every single session, including self-compassion prompts."

    —Latrice K.

  • "The experience was unforgettable and I can’t wait until my next session. If you are curious about sound healing, keep an open mind and do it with someone who really is a healer like Gabrielle."

    —D. Mouzon

  • "I appreciate the way you create a safe space for community heal."

    —Jayna S.

  • "I appreciated this guided meditation so much. It helped me get to a vulnerable place, in a safe/welcoming environment, that I feel I have been trying to avoid. This has opened my soul to guided meditation,"

What we do at Sun Earth Healing

At Sun Earth Healing, we offer trauma-informed healing for Black femmes and women who are ready to slow down, listen to their bodies, and heal holistically. Every offering is designed to support your nervous system, honor your capacity, and help you reconnect with yourself.

  • In 1:1 sessions, we focus on nervous system healing using gentle, body‑based practices. This may include trauma-informed yoga, vibrational sound therapy, or self-devotion coaching to help you release trauma from the body at your own pace.

This is a supportive space for people looking for a somatic healer near me who understands Black lived experience and trauma.

You’ll leave these offerings with simple practices you can use at home, along with journaling tools like a healing journey journal and self compassion prompts to support ongoing care.

This is holistic healing wellness that meets you where you are.

  • Healing happens in relationships and in community,

Community healing circles create space for Black healing in connection with others who understand your experience. These group offerings are slow, supportive, and rooted in shared care.

Together, we explore rest, movement, sound, reflection, and conversation in ways that feel safe and grounding.

These offerings are especially supportive for people who want healing in community before committing to a retreat or long‑term work.

If you’ve been craving connection without pressure, this is a place to begin.

  • Sun Earth Healing offers Black women’s wellness retreats and immersive experiences designed for deep rest, reflection, and restoration.

These black wellness retreats are intentionally created as black owned wellness retreats centering safety, accessibility, and cultural care.

Retreats may include yoga, sound healing, journaling, nature time, and guided rest practices that support deep nervous system regulation.

Retreats are ideal for those who want to step away from daily stress and reconnect through trauma‑informed healing in a supportive, intentional space.

Pillars of Care

Trauma-informed.
Decolonized.
Intersectional Feminism. Embodiment.

Whether you’re booking a session or joining a retreat, we make it simple, gentle, and clear—because healing should never feel overwhelming. At Sun Earth Healing, our process is designed to support your trauma-informed healing journey as a Black femme or gender nonconforming person, one grounded and beautiful step at a time.

Here’s our process:

1. Connect.
Fill out the contact form or book a clarity call. This is where we get to know each other and see what kind of support feels best right now—whether that’s a 1:1 session, healing circle, or Black women’s wellness retreat.

2. Choose your path.
You’ll choose the offering that feels right for your body and schedule. Whether it’s nervous system healing near you or a retreat to release trauma from the body, I’ll walk with you each step of the way.

3. Begin with care.
We go slow. I’ll guide you through what to expect. We’ll focus on gentle practices like breathwork, movement, sound, and reflection. You’ll leave with tools—like a healing journey journal or self-compassion prompts—you can use anytime.

4. Continue with support.
Healing isn’t one-and-done. I offer ongoing options for check-ins, community support, and deeper work if you want it.
